Dr. Uchenna Ewelike, Executive Secretary/CEO of Imo State Health Insurance Agency (IMSHIA), met with the Imo State Chapter of the Nigerian Union of Pensioners (NUP) on Thursday, March 20, 2025.
This meeting comes ahead of the physical enrollment for all verified pensioners in Imo State, marking a significant step towards ensuring their access to healthcare services.Following the express approval of His Excellency, Dis. Sen. Hope Uzodimma, Governor of Imo State, to enroll all verified Pensioners in the State into the ImoCare Health Insurance Program, the meeting with the Nigerian Union of Pensioners demonstrates the governor’s commitment to expanding healthcare coverage to all eligible residents, including pensioners.
By facilitating physical enrollment through the Imo State Health Insurance Agency, the health-friendly governor aims to ensure that verified pensioners can access necessary healthcare services without financial burden.Under Dr. Ewelike’s capacity leadership, the agency has made significant strides in providing affordable healthcare to Ndi-Imo via consultation services, surgeries, and other medical treatments.
