The Imo State Health Insurance Agency and the Imo State Primary Health Care Development Agency (ISPHCDA) recently hosted the 10th Assembly House Committee on Health Institutions, led by Chairman Hon. Amos Gwamna Magaji, on a strategic visit to assess primary health institutions and healthcare delivery in Imo State.
The Executive Secretary/CEO of Imo State Health Insurance Agency, Dr. Uchenna Ewelike, and the Executive Secretary of ISPHCDA, Miss Kosi Ekenjoku, welcomed the committee, highlighting the importance of collaborative efforts to improve healthcare services in the state.
The visit aimed to evaluate the current state of primary health institutions, assess healthcare delivery systems, and identify areas for improvement in the State. The committee held discussions with health officials and visited selected primary health facilities to assess infrastructure, equipment, and service delivery.
Dr Ewelike attributed the milestones achieved in the State’s Health Sector to the strong political will of His Excellency, Distinguished Sen. (Dr) Hope Uzodimma, Governor of Imo State, for strengthening the healthcare workforce capacity building, infrastructure development, equipment procurement, and healthcare financing, ultimately enhancing healthcare access and quality for Imo State residents.
