*Dr Ewelike Describes Efforts of Diaspora Group to be in line with Governor Hope Uzodimma’s Drive to End Health Poverty in Imo State.
The Executive Secretary and CEO of the Imo State Health Insurance Agency (IMSHIA), Dr. Uchenna Ewelike, has commended the efforts of Mbaise USA Inc. for enrolling poor and vulnerable households in Mbaise into the ImoCare Health Insurance Program, as he described efforts of the diasporan group to be in line with the Governor Hope Uzodimma drive to end health poverty in Imo state through the financial risk protection implementation.
Speaking following the commencement of the enrollment exercise across the three LGAs of Mbaise namely Aboh, Ahiazu and Ezinihitte Mbaise, Dr. Ewelike praised the diasporan organization, Mbaise USA Inc., for taking bold and proactive steps to protect their loved ones from the financial burden of illness, describing move as a thoughtful demonstration of deep commitment to the health and well-being of good people of Mbaise.
The renowned Health Economist, Dr Uchenna Ewelike explained that the ImoCare Program was designed as a safety net and risk protection mechanism aimed at driving the Universal Health Coverage Agenda of His Excellency, Distinguished Senator (Dr) Hope Uzodimma for Ndi-Imo.
He emphasized that the ImoCare Program provides access to a wide range of healthcare services including maternal and child health, emergency care and surgeries at little to no cost at the point of care.
While thanking the President of Mbaise USA Inc, Ezeji (Chief) Alozie Aguwa for his empathic and pragmatic leadership, Dr Ewelike also coveted the opportunity to encourage other diaspora associations and community centered organizations to emulate Mbaise USA Inc’s efforts and pull their loved ones out of health poverty by keying into the ImoCare Health Insurance Program of the Imo State Health Insurance Agency.
