In a landmark step toward Universal Health Coverage (UHC), the Honorable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Chioma Vivian Egu, recently spearheaded a series of strategic dialogues and meetings with both public and private healthcare providers across Imo State. Held under the auspices of the Imo State Health Insurance agency, led by the pragmatic Executive Secretary/CEO, Prof. Uchenna Ewelike, these sessions were dedicated to aligning the state’s healthcare network with the transformative vision of His Excellency, Governor Hope Uzodimma.
Dr. Chioma Egu emphasized that the 3R administration’s goal is to integrate all healthcare sectors—public and private—into a cohesive system that ensures “quality medical care is a fundamental human right”.
The Commissioner highlighted the necessity of deeper synergy with private facilities and the Heartland Hospital Management Corporation (HHMC) to modernize service delivery and expand the state’s reach into remote communities.
